Artist's Comments

This started as a commission from my cousin, who happens to play the violin. He had the idea of a violin with a heart, which he wanted to put on some t-shirt. I don't know how to draw so I couldn't make the illustration he wanted, but I liked the idea enough to execute it in my own way. Thus, I did.

While I was making this, I was listening to the King Diamond album "The Puppet Master." This album is about a, well, a puppet master who makes his puppets out of real people by rather brutal and gory means. I thought that was great, and it sort of sneaked into this piece.

It is said that musicians put their heart into their music, I think that Violin by `disintegration is an excellent example of just this. (Suggested by ~YellowCat and Featured by $damphyr)

wow...thats really..its hard to say i like it, cuz its so incredibly gory, but i have to say its amazing. the idea, the concept is incredible and you rendered it extremely well. :applause: . even the wood and the chin rest take on the texture and appearance of skin, almost...wow. well done.

Great album. I'm sure he'd love this piece, it's beautiful and inspiring (I'm a violinist as well, this is very inspiring.)

Very striking. I would have liked to see the full neck of the violin though. But nonetheless..this is pretty hot.
